Coralife 36W ballasts from Biocube 29

Morning all!

I had it with those stupid stock lights constantly burning out in my BC29 every 3-4 months so decided to lose them and replace with LEDs. I previously added 3 Ecoxotic stunner strips and just removed the old PC bulbs and wiring and added an Ecoxotic Panorama LED module this morning (one more on order).

So here's my question...is there anything I can use the old Coralife ballasts for? Can I use them as a power supply for another LED build I'm working on or is that a really bad idea? There was a transformer (or something) inside the biocube hood that looks like it stepped down the power from AC120-60hz to aA12V-300mA.

Any other ideas? Or are they pretty useless now?
