Best wood material for aquarium cabinetry?

Just asking for opinions re: the best wood material I should use for my aquarium cabinetry to be built shortly. Nothing structural, just want it to look good, help in muffle noise and stand up to any salt spray, etc.

I was thinking a stained Maple or Oak......is there a good, better, best I should be using?
