Hey friend I have D70 for sale in the for sale section if you didn't notice, also I believe the D40 and new D60 are also quite affordable. They all come with your basic starter lens which will give you great photos and you can upgrade or buy additional lenses later for specialty pictures. In addition you can later upgrade the body and use the same lenses.

Sorry I'm a Nikon guy.
