Gorgonian in trouble

I thought that something was eating my gorgonian at night so I have been monitoring after dark. NOTHING!! No inverts or fish touched this thing, but the sores (what I thought were bite marks) are getting bigger, right down to the skeleton and their's more apearing. Anyone have a similar problem. Everything else in the tank is thriving from what I can tell. The gorgonian was totally healthy three days ago, then just all of a sudden .
