![]() What size is your tank?
Generally all boxfish will fight when with another of their own kind. Especially if one is bigger then the other. But IMO, its not worth the risk and stress. Besides remembering that when boxfish are stressed (toxin) could lead you to a TOTAL tank melt down. |

![]() Hmm... see really hard to say if they will fight or not. Also each fish have different personalities. But is it worth the chance?
I have seen many different boxfish in stores all together and think...OOOooo their not suppose to. Although the tanks are quite large and the fish are not expected to be there long either. I find most boxfish to be peaceful tankmates. Fish that like to swim alone & be mostly alone. Not bothered. They hate cleaner wrasses as they move to quick & stress them. Also these fish are not fast swimmers and can't get away fast enough to defend themselves from aggressive fish. You will find they are very personable fish that can eat right out of your hand once they trust you. They can be very timid at first. They seem to get almost jealous once other boxfish are present. But adding two is a chance you take. For my boxfish in a 77 gal. If she's not happy then no one's happy and for me the idea of her creating a tank melt down is too stressfull as a thought for one, I won't chance with two. Hence my cowfish named "Bullets" get it my user name...Bulletsworld. ![]() |

![]() Also those long horn cowfish... get really big.
I was surprised how those little yellow popcorn (as I call them) fish get so big but they do and they horns get even longer! But they are cute when they are small and you gotta love those blue green eyes. |
