![]() I (and many many others) believe that partial regular water changes are absolutely required, regardless of anything else in or on your system. Remember, your fish go to the bathroom in the same stuff they live in. Be nice to them and remove as much of that as often as possible.
I always read about the awesome tanks that never do water changes, but I've never actually seen them. They may exist, but I think they're ticking time bombs. For the cost of making 40 gallons of salt a month, why tempt fate?

I must say it is a breath of fresh air to speak to people that have a clue about what they're talking about! Here the kind of advice I got at one LFS was, don't put Tangs with LR, they eat LR! Also when said LFS gets new LR in, they freeze-dry it, remove anything dead( which of course is everything!) and "re-grow" it.
