Have new Banggai cardnals as some of you know. Well the female is layign on the sand bed dieing. Not good. Respiration rate narmal. Belly even with body, no white spots, no skin abrasions, eyes clear, was swimming normaly lastnight with male. Any idea what it might be??

maybe the male was too rough with her last night

Maybe but i doubt it the male aint hit puberty(sexual amturity yet) lol

I don't suppose you have any test kits?

Can you do a precautionary water change? Are you sure about oxygenation?

Ya oxygen is exelent just did a 20 percent change no amonia nitrate or nitrite

If they are juvies, how do you know for sure that it isn't the weaker male ?

The female is the adult she is sexually active the smaller male you can tell by the jaw line and the fin extensions but he is half her size
