These should not be kept in captivity, but we as the "master race" do as we see fit now don't we

FYI it's not mine, I saw it at the store and thought it was cool so I took pic.'s of it. I know their next to impossible to keep alive in captivity.

Thankfully our LFS will no longer order these in because they've never had any success with them. I'm not sure how many they killed until they realized that they were losing money every time. Its too bad as those are really amazing looking eels.

I'm not sure they meant to, might of been a surprise switch of orders. I've never seen one before in person, and I have to agree with whatcaneyedo as they really are amazing looking eels.

I do agree it is unfortunate these continue to come in. Some stores do not order them in anymore, they just "show up" in livestock orders. Many still do though. And then for those eels "smart" enough to start eating prepared foods they will most likely find a way out of the aquarium eventually. It is sad, and it is this way for so so many beautiful fishes out there.
