here is my current progect to light a small 30 gallon tank. i plan to double this setup and use printed circuit boards as the final setup. it should all run of a small computer supply. it's hard to tell how bright the leds are from the picture. leds are all 6000mcd. i'm waiting for another power supply before trying it on a tank. this is the future of tank lighting.

Doesn't seem like it will provide enough light. Or are you planning on using this for only dusk and dawn setting?

at 6000 mcd they will not replace much, LED's at there current advancement are best suited for night lighting or for effects. there are LED's available that could rival a PC or VHO set up but it would be way way to expensive as you would need 20 of them to replace 1 96 watt PC and they are 15.00 each. but in the next 5 or 10 years I suspect there might be cheeper brighter alrernatives but for now spot lighting and nightlights
