hi all. just looking for some advise on fixing my tank. i have a 90gal with a cracked bottom,i was thinking about just laying in a peice of 5/8 glass just big enough to fit over the cracked one and reseal it
your help is greatly appreciated |

I have seen this done but its risky no guarentee the crack wont spread

the whole bottom is cracked corner to corner, i'm thinking of insted of removing the bottom glass just cover the whole thing with a new piece and reseal it to it

You would still need to right size and thickness, so you might as well do it properly. 90g of salt water can make a mess of your floors.

If its cracked edge to edge it will leek thru the crack and you have to replace the whole bottom

do you mean take the whole bottom piece out and replace it,or replace the whole tank

replace the bottom piece. Or have a shop do it for you.

With the american dollar being what it's worth our LFS up the street has 90 gallon tanks for a song.. 72 gallon for $120 or some crazy price.
