I have a CPR cs50 overflow and need a 300 GPH water pump. If i use the mag 500 with a 4 foot lead that is 310 gal per hour. by plain eye this would be a problem. is it safer to use the mag 350 pump which pumps out a 250 @ a 4 foot lead. thanks

There is a handy little calculator online somewhere and I can't find it, your mag should be fine seeing as each turn or corner you put on a return reduces your flow substantially. You should be able to tell pretty quick if your overflow will handle it but I don't see it as being a problem.

Probably best to put a valve on th eoutput of the pump, this allows you to fine tune the flow going in. You'll hardly ever get a perfect match unless you underpower the pump.
