![]() well the skimmer went nuts wile i was at work and had my auto top off feed about 4 gal of top off water into my tank by way of kalk reactor.....
Ca is at 460 and KH is at 10.6 and Alk is at 3.77 What would be the best way to drop it down closer to norm and will it have any bad effect till its back down? P.S. Kalk reactor is unplugged. |

![]() That isn't even a harmful alkalinity to be at so don't worry too much.
Natural sea water is 8dkh so you are pretty close. The thing you may want to worry about is the slight upwards pH spike after adding that much kalk.. but even with your water volume you won't need to worry about that either. I think you'll find lots of hobbiests keep it around 10 dkh +- 2dkh. Hope that helps and calms your worries. |
