Zoos are very toxic!!

Indeed Sam, and I have fragged about 100 zoanthids since that time, and have never had a problem.

I'm still caustious when fragging zoos or even mushrooms.I've been squirted by shrooms once or twice but luckly not the zoos.I think any time we have our hands in the tank whether its moving corals or just general maintaince,it still important to wash your hands after.Even minor scratches can become irrittated and itchy.

had me a nasty experience with a wasp sting and zoo toxin last summer. Been very cautious since then.

Bob, I'm guessing there would only be a problem if you eat them or get them in your bloodstream.

or if the juice squirts you in the eyes, or you get it on your hands then get it in your mouth while wiping lips.

What about if you have a cut on your finger or somthing and get squirted. How can some fish eats them if there so toxic?

Delbeek and Sprung note that several predators of zoanthids are not only unaffected by palytoxin, but actively store it in their bodies and shells.
