when feeding time rolls around ive just been thawing meaty foods under warm tap water. should i rather be thawing in a small amount of tank water??

It makes more sense to use tank water, especially if you are using RO/DI water.

I typically thaw and rinse in RO/DI.

thawing in freshwater sucks good oils out of the food. Thaw in tank water. you can rinse briefly in freshwater to get excess oils off though.
