Time for more macro pruning... The Gracilaria is starting to take over the seahorse tank.
5$ for a palm sized hunk sound reasonable? Also lookin for frags ![]() Pic should be attached. Nice red macro algae |

It looks more like Red Halimenia to me, not Gracilarius.

No, the halymenia's are a harder macro, this stuff is soft pliable and feels greasy - 99% sure it's Gracilaria.
I do have something closer to red halymenia, but it's not yet for sale Seem to recall it's proper name was Cen??? |

How well does it ship? If it ships well, then I would love to get a portion or two of it for my seahorse tank tooooooooo.
I've shipped Chaeto & Prolifera before but no red macros. Anthony |

Shipped this stuff before "dry" (wrapped in wet towel) buyers never complained about dead plants... One package was in transit for 4 days - Mind you it was much earlier in the spring with lower temps.

Bah, y'all are too difficult... Halimenia is supposed to be calcaerous - this stuff isn't. If ya can't bend and break it, it's not calcaerous...

http://www.marineflora.com/macroalgae.html Look at the pictures, going by that (and numerous other reputable sources), it's definitely not halymenia.
