Leopard Wrasse question: how safe with crabs and snails?

For those of you who have owned a Leopard Wrasse, did it eat your hermit crabs and snails?

It left my snails alone, but I have big snails.

I've had Macropharyngodon meleagris and Macropharyngodon negrosensis for years and have had no problems. The only thing that I've seen them attack and eat are amphipods.

Thanks, I will get a leopard wrasse when I can find one available. I am wondering how much sand they need to bury themselves in, my sandbed varies from 1/2" to 2", if needed I can place a tupperware container in behind the rocks with several inches of sand in it.

2" is plenty. My 33g never had more than 1.5-2" of cc in it. Make sure that it is eating at the LFS before you get it. I found that if it is eating already, your chances are much better because the shipping stress seems to affect them more so than many other species.

If anyone spots a leopard wrasse at J & L or OA can they let me know?

I can keep an eye out. But I've never seen one at J&L nor OA. I've seen them only occassionally and the Black Leopards were at Big Al's and the regular Leopards were at King Ed.

OK between the two stores, which is the least risky for livestock? I have generally only stuck to reputable stores like OA or J & L.
