kh is carbonite hardness, alkalinity is the waters ability resist ph fluctuation, they are the same but different, you should measure alk.

k I will measure my alk tonight
My Ph is 8 so my alk should be about the same right? I have been dosing aragamilk but recently (today) I was told thats for calcium, and counter balances ph and alk, so I could be doing more bad then good continuing to add it at this point, My lfs said at the rate I had been dosing aragamilk(2-4 days) it should be quite high and to stop using it for the time being. another noob mistake as I was originally told aragamilk was for ph, but now learn it is for calcium argh.. lol now I know. So I will test tonight but again if my ph is fine my alk should realistically be ok to correct?

you want to balance your ca and alk, 430ppm ca and 9dkh alk is pretty well balanced, sps systems usually run lower alk, once balanced your ph will be stable, 8.0 to 8.3 ph is good
