Default Who's the new guy ???

It's great to find a local site. My thanks to rcipena,(Bob ?) for finding me on the AC boards and directing me here. I look forward to learning from you all and sharing with you all my disasters over the years. I probably have little to offer in terms of what to do but if you need to know what NOT to do,I'm you man !!! I currently have two tanks just "settling" in. (moved in Feb.) A90g and a 60g corner. I started my first marine tank probably 18 years ago. Yup,back in the good 'ol days. Just a UGF with powerheads,an old Fluval canister filter and a bunch of coral skeletons. I had a lionfish and a Clown Trigger. Throw in a goldfish every other day. My friends thought it was even better than feeding my Oscars. That whole scenario is frowned upon now but that Lionfish lived for 14 years. It was too simple then...grab a six of Raineer and head on down to "Hole in the Wall" on 11th Ave.(remember that place).Barry always gave me a "smokin'" deal and all I had to do was have a few cold ones with 'em. Ya' just can't get good service in this town for a six pack anymore... Look forward to gettin' to know ya'all...

Welcome

I too remember "Hole in the Wall"
I used to run around there! I was a kid of course but it brings back memories!

Look foreward to meeting you and your tank's.

Good to see you here. As I said I have nothing against AC. That Boogie is one knowledgable guy. I would like to meet him. He sure has a lot of patience with some of the fools who like to post on there once in a while.

You will find a lot of knowledge on this board, and the Tang Police usually keep quiet

Howdy Tangoman! (Can I call ya "TM" for short?)

I'm thinking we might recognize each other, I used to stroke Barry for deals too! That must have been around 1988 or so?? HITW was a cool little store - got a couple of nice fish there for my 80 gal coral skeleton showpiece, with UGF, powerheads, and a Magnum 350.

Sounds like deja-vu! Did you also deal with that pet trafficker down at Bow Valley (was it Mitch)? That place was a little spooky. :P

Glad you're hanging out, take care.

Alan

O.K. who are the Tang Police ? Fools posting on the boards at AC ? Are you slammin' me already...? Ya', I know, that place was awesome about 2-3 years ago. A LOT of knowledgable people from around the world. They all left when the site kept crashing. Oh well, that was the past. I can't dwell on how things once were.(I doubt a six pack would make Daniel happy...)Alan,you mentioned Mitch @ Bow Valley. That's too weird because my "sister- in -law" asked me if I ever knew him back in the days of Bow Valley Pets. I met Mitch last year though. Ya wanna' know where ? Well I'll tell ya'. Ya' ever heard of Inter American Pet Supply ? They run a small ad in FAMA magazine. I had them put new front glass on my 90g,"Starphire" glass.Very clear!!! Anyway,Mitch runs that place. A great place for Custom tanks,CHEAP bulkhead fittings and hole cutting too !!! He's a "sqirrelly" bugger eh ? He was probably peddling a little more than pets back in the '70s & '80s. if ya' know what I mean...Whoaaa, you just gave me an idea. I'll bet Mitch will cut a deal for a six pack,(or a "cig").
I gotta tell some stories now...I get this way somtimes, Mitchs' shop is in Forest Lawn, it's on the south side of 17th Ave, directly opposite of Golds' Aquariums on the North. His shop is upstairs from Bow Valley Pets. Just look for the neighborhood "junky" standin' on the corner. I didn't stop to ask but I'll ASSure ya' she aint sellin' cookies. Yikes! Anyway, Mitch was preparing to ship an 800 gallon tank to a Casino In Washington State. WOW !!!! Now thats a fish tank! The crazy buggers hauled my 90g up two flights of stairs to his shop. They said anything over 200g they'd use the forklift and the second floor roll-up door. Weird place I tell ya' but they have my business becuse they appreciated it and they're honest !!!! That goes a long way with me and my money. Besides that place is worth the price of admission...
and ya, you can call me TM.I'm sure if I haven't already there'l be a few names for me...

No I am not slamming you. The Tang Police show up on a few boards whenever somebody mentions they have a Tang in what they consider to be too small a tank. They tend to very annoying. My opinion of course.
