Dosing supplements 30 minutes apart

Why is this done? If I know I'm low on both magnesium and alk, can I do them one right after another? I know that alk, ca and mg all effect each other, but I'm just curious why I can't do all 3 within 5 minutes if I'm sure that they're all low.

I dose a little of each at the same time using different containers to dose each chemical.

I'm assuming so they don't react with eachother and precipitate out.

i mixed a few chemicals together to add to my nano and it turned to a pasty clump of craap

I've mixed some together a long time ago and got the same clumpy stuff. That's why I dose them from separate containers.
