Looks like aiptasia. Joe's juice works for me, but doesn't for everyone. Why not?....I don't know.

It is on a couple pound piece of rock I got a few hours ago from the LFS. Should I take it out and throw away the rock? Can it spread in a few hours?

It's okay.. don't throw the rock out.

Get a syringe somehow.. and boil some water. Then inject the aptasia with boiling hot water. Worked for mine.

I just went right in the middle.. seemed to work fine.
