90g sps tank

Picked up my new tank the other day. Its a 90g, 3ft. by 2ft. by 2ft. Just finished the in wall set-up.

This is a pic from the rear, {lots of work remaining}.

Bottom cover made from a sheet of acrylic with a layer if silicone and a course aragonite layed imbedded into it. No loose gravel but still gives a bit of a look.

Yea, pretty close to a cube Ryan. I have only one halide over it at the moment, so the bottom shots are a bit darker.

Besides the couple of sps I have from my other tank, I picked up three beautiful aqua-cultered stag frags from Jaysons, when getting the tank.

They reside in one of my several tubs on the floor, with stock in them.

The glued on sandbed looks pretty good. I may try that on my next tank.

Don't know how easy it will be to siphon crud from it, though.

Seems to have turned out fine. I seen some different versions of several boards and decided to give it a go. The acrylic sheet is not attached to the bottom, so can be removed if I dont like it or have problems. Unlike the sheet I used in a previous tank, this one sits very flat on the bottom glass.

Well, thats another question Bev.

Its very shallow. Plus the tank will have very high flow, from a Mag 12 return pump and two Tunze 6080 streams. Also running a 28in. SWC beckett, driven by a Mag 24.

I have been thinking about one of those bottoms, but unfortunately 3 of my fish NEED a sandbed. I dont think syphoning the bottom will be hard because you'll still be sucking stuff up its just the bottom is rougher, and I dont think a syphon will suck pieces off the bottom.

What kind of silicone did you use doug? Are you wooried about any breakdown of the silicone?
I dont have any experience with the stuff, hence the question.
