Bottom cover made from a sheet of acrylic with a layer if silicone and a course aragonite layed imbedded into it. No loose gravel but still gives a bit of a look.

Besides the couple of sps I have from my other tank, I picked up three beautiful aqua-cultered stag frags from Jaysons, when getting the tank. They reside in one of my several tubs on the floor, with stock in them.

The glued on sandbed looks pretty good. I may try that on my next tank.

This looks like a fantastic new project Doug
I wish you the best of luck with it! I have been thinking about one of those bottoms, but unfortunately 3 of my fish NEED a sandbed. I dont think syphoning the bottom will be hard because you'll still be sucking stuff up its just the bottom is rougher, and I dont think a syphon will suck pieces off the bottom. Chris
