" Twenty years ago, “mini reef hobbyists” were lucky to get corals in a particularly juicy shade of brown, and if they were lucky there might be a hint of green in an elegance coral or trachyphyllia."

I have been wondering about this for a while. Where are all these crazy colours coming from ?, why were they not available 20 years ago ?

And congrats to Alex too !!

I believe that it had more to do with the lighting options of the aquarist at that time and not the actual coral colour.

With the leaps and bounds of science especially in this hobby we know that actinic supplementation excite zooanthellae and causes colour to fluoresce that may not be visible under 6500 - 10000 K colour temperature.

Congrats! But isn't that also another Canreef member with the first picture? Our very own, newly crowned moderator - Kien?
