![]() So a lot of people don't think its worth upgrading there lights, whether its a mitra, sol, radion. heres my opinion on why it is worth it.
1- you sell you lights your gonna loose money 2-the new lights u buy your gonna lose on them too. 3-you upgrade your boards , or pucks you now have spares. Heres some pictures of my upgrade on my mitra ![]() u take off the end plate ![]() remove glass and this is what youll see. ![]() now u want to remove the little reflectors with the 4 screws ![]() now what u see is 2 pucks 1 is the hyper violet that u don't need to touch the other in the puck u remove by lifting up slightly and pulling towards the case. ![]() this is what your removing ![]() heres the new one ![]() here u can see I have one finished , two pucks replaced and the other three pucks are removed. ![]() now all pucks are replaced ![]() now all the screw and reflectors are replaced NOTE- reflector only fit on one way. ![]() now all done except for the end plate. these are all plug and play. onley thing I did afterwards was upgrade the firmware which needed to be done anyway. and like I said before well worth the money to upgrade considering the money you would loose selling the fixture then buying a whole new one. ![]() Every time I see the inside of LED fixture think probably left with little choice but to upgrade or replace after a few years considering the electronics in a warm moist salty environment. At least your practiced now.

![]() I get mine custom built by a friend who's an electronics expert. He upgrades my lights all the time. Building me a new dual pendant with 3 blue (445nm & 460 nm) and 3 white (6500k, 10000k & 20000k) 10 watt emitters & a 1w blue moonlight. 61 watts total power at max output. What does the Mitra put out for power?
They'll connected to same power source with built-in timers & dimmer switches built into the custom Al heatsinks. Looking at the guts of your Mitra - looks very complicated but I'm guessing its more an unplug old doohickey and plug in replacement upgraded doohickey. And my vast knowledge of complex electronics terminology is another reason I just get my friend to build my lights for me ![]() What size tank does this Mitra unit go over? Mine will be over a 2' cube & 30" 93g cube. Fortunately they'll both be set up close together enough to wire into one power source. Anthony

![]() Weird, didn't realize the 6100 was getting phased out by the 6200, just thought it was another option. So people adding additional mitras later down the road are now forced to update existing 6100s to 6200s. That's kind of BS in my mind since these are modular fixtures. Perhaps those 6100 pucks have decent value after all.
