Hi

Less power consumption and they are adjustable. Helps you really fine tune.

Thanks

What info make this a true fact. Just because a pump is controllable doesn't mean its going to be a good skimmer. fine tuning a skimmer can be from the Air intake to adjust like the Deltec.

A gate valve will and can cause a fine tune on the water level not bubble making

Contact time will help with fine tuning the skimmer too.

Mike DC skimmers are all the rage now and the future of pretty much all skimmers including BK. Virtually all new skimmers released now are using DC pumps and for good reason. Like you stated previously one way of fine tuning a skimmer is the air intake but doing this isn't ideal because if you reduce air flow you increase water flow so it's not really that efficient. With a DC pump you can reduce air flow in the same manor or/and reduce the pump speed hence reducing air flow and water flow and allowing more adjustment of each variable while at the same time only using the amount of energy needed by the pump. So DC skimmers do offer more control and higher efficiency. In addition DC pumps are suppose to be capable of higher impeller speeds allowing for finer bubble generation.

I think to remain king of skimmers you'll have to get a couple DC skimmers under your belt pronto

The "lower power" refers to the DC pump and power consumption, nothing to do with fine tuning. The fact that the pumps come with - / + buttons that allow you to adjust the flow. There is also a feed mode
