How does one mount a chalice?

Just purchased the blood red chalice 1" from fragalot, I'm assuming it comes on a plug/disk/rubble but I'd like to place this frag on the side or back of my tank (on the glass) and have it grow out from the glass like I've seen a few people do here on canreef.

How does a person go about making such a mount for the chalice to grow on... make a little platform and mount it to the glass with magnets? suction cups? Is this something I can buy online? :O

And how high up on the glass should I place this platform... my LED Kessils A350's are about 1 foot from the surface of the tank, tank is 21" high (deep).

You can buy magnet frag mounts if you want to place the on the back of the glass.

My over flow is acrylic so I scored some lines in it for grip and used glue now its encrusted
