acquired a new tank

hi guys i am new to your forum and i have a few questions about a tank i have acquired. just picked up a 90gal tank with all accessories. this includes ballast lights rock an eel and corals etc.....skimmer and all. i will not be moving it from where it is but it has sat for a couple of months and has lots of algae. i havent had a chance to have the water tested yet but was wondering where to start. i know a few things as kgb and i were into the salt water stuff together. tony and johnathan if you have any suggestions pls private message me ok its liz thanks guys
