I heard a rumor that EuroReef is switching from Sedra pumps to Eheim. Can anyone comment on which pump is better and why?

Eheim's craftsmanship, design, quality parts, low power consumption, and test of time is what make them better. Where/when did you hear about this? If they go ahead with it and not mark up the prices, you will see alot buyers.

Only problem with Eheim is their biggest pump for the north american market is only 1200 gph - Compare that to the sedras... Yes eheim makes bigger, but at 50hz they've been having difficulties making them work on our 60hz power.
