Can I use this for a DE bulb without switching the bulb connectors? Also can I run double end bulbs off of a magnetic ballast? Anyone have a closeup of a de fixture that shows the socket?

The halogen light sockets are different fromt the 70 - 150W DE or the 250-400W DE MH bulbs.
Also, you need a HQI or electronic ballast to fire DE bulbs.

With a dremel rotory tool you can shape the ceramic holders, wire in a new ballast and you're set. I believe it's the 500w Halogen unit that holds the larger DE tubes but again you need that rotary tool to shape the ceramic end pieces.
