Default Kent Marine Phosphate Sponge

i just picked some up in bulk ,and from what i was told to do is after rinceing it place it in the filter leave it there for up to to days the replce it with new or charge it,do you have to keep doing this every two days or so or just for the first time ?...thanks for any info.

My understanding was that you have to do this each time. Or I believe that there is a rotation as well where you only replace 60% or something along those lines each time. I use the phosphate sponge as part of my rotation (Nitrate sponge, carbon, phosphate)
