Default The horrors of some people

Well, tonight, someone tried to purposely run over my cat. I really just cannot believe there are people like this out there. He ran into a neighbors yard (this is at night) and now I cannot find him. Really, I am just so ****ed that someone could do this. I am shocked.. really.. what kind of people are these? Its crazy. I hope tomorrow morning I can find my cat. Or he figures out the way home.

Chad,

That sounds sick Your poor cat

However, pets left to roam without their owners in control of them are often either targets of cruelty or they get into trouble of their own volition.

Cats are particularly vulnerable when left to roam unattended by their owners, sometimes being killed by predators (even in an urban environment), accidentally run over, taken home by well-meaning people who think the cat is a stray, and by being victims of cruelty.

Cats left to roam also cause trouble, unfortunately, by using neighbour's gardens and flowerbeds as their litter boxes, and by killing countless newly fledged and adult song birds. I cannot tell you how many young robins I've seen caught and needlessly killed by cats over the years And it's not like we have so many song birds, due to environmental degradation, etc, that bird populations can withstand the additional attack from well-fed pet cats.

I sure hope you find your cat and that he is kept safely indoors where he cannot become a victim of chance, nor victimize any other living creature.

He is an indoor cat, however we let him sit outside, which he does all the time without leaving our backyard which is fenced in. In 10 years he has never left the yard. Was unattended for about 5 mins.

Thanks for the concern and warning tho ..

Being an indoor cat, he must be totally freaked to find himself outside all night after such a terrible adventure Sure hope you find him

I have a friend who has had all her indoor cats trained to be outside on a leash in their fenced back yards. The cats are safe, but can still enjoy the wonders of the outdoors and not get into too much trouble. Not sure how a 10 year old cat would catch onto the harness and leash idea, but it may be worth a try.

Well too bad you didn't get the license plate number.

Anyway this is just more evidence that we need a U.S. style justice system.

I ran after the car, my first mistake. I should have just followed the cat, but I assumed he would find the first thing to hide under and stay there.

I was right beside the car and yelled at him, he move a little more ahead, stopped put his reverse on, I stood there motioning him to come on.. and then he drove away..

We have been out all night and early this morning, figured he might be in the trees in that yard but don't see anything. Hopefully he will show up once he gets hungry.
