Re: need help with pumping xenia
My xenias do well with lots of current. Do you think you have enough water flow in your nano? I'm also wondering if it might not be liking that much light. Perhaps others with xenia under MH will offer suggestions here.

My xenia is under 2 175 wt halides and 2 40 w actinic flourescents. it grew the fastest near the top of the tank. lots of indirect flow, kept them moving quite a bit, but did not "push " them only to one side. Check your temp as a 175 on a 10G could heat it up pretty quick.

Xenia can shrink down for short periods. Don't do anything drastic. 1 year ago I put a colony 24" deep in a tank under 800 watts of MH lighting, for the first month-2 months it would occasionally shrink, while maintaining decent tissue appearance. The colony is now 5 times larger and thriving. Be patient!

What kind of light was it under before? It may not be use to that kind. I've had mine shrivle up for days and then come back. Add some iodine that has helped me.
