Default Scared of bio pellets lol

With all the articles I've read it seems more bad then good. What I have kinda desired to do with the bio pellets in use less then told to and start with even less and add slow. I watch some vids and came to the conclusion. To tumble the bio pellets at a lower rate. I've never had a problem with nitrates and I've been using phosban media for the last couple months.I have a little bubble algea problem but besides that no other algea. Any tips my tank is mostly sps and lighting is LED. The live rock is a couple years old as I did an upgrade in October witch is used new sand and old live rock and water. Any tips would be great
