Default Back Pack, lots of air bubbles

Quick question for you all, I purchased a skimmer I was way over due and was having some issues so I thought it was time. I got a back pack unit as I knew it would fit behind my tank and the guy at the LFS said it was a good unit that he has had success with.

I have set it up and installed it and it is working okay but I am getting LOTS of tiny air bubbles back in to my tank and they are all over everything from my coral, my rock glass everything. I have since turned it off and added a Aqua Clear mini foam to the over flow to stop some of the bubbles that has helped but only by about 10%-15% so still unaceptable any tips here or should I try to return it and spend some more?

Thanks for the help

My Bakpak does that whenever i do a water change or change the water chemistry. It always stops after a couple of hours. how long have you had it running. hrs? days?
You can try the CPR Bakpak bubble trap, but i havent heard much about it when it comes to performance.

I ran it over night once and then turned it off and I have only ran it for a few minutes here and there when tring to fix it, I guess I should just try it again and let it go for a bit longer?

Thanks, I have seen the bubble traps too but they are like $40 for a bit of plastic and I have already spent over $200 for this thing.

Ditto. If I remember correctly, it did take a while to break in, but zero bubbles now, even with the airstone mod.

Trevor, I have the bubble trap thing and you are welcome to it, if you find the problem persists.

I ran it last night for about 3 hours and I found that I was still getting lots of bubbles but the other thing that is happening now is that durring that time I had to empty the cup three times so I did not want to let it run over night.

Also in the cup it was almost clear water, so seemed kinda odd.

Emily, if you are not using the air trap I would love to try it out I will gladly pay you for it (or give you an IOU for a frag)

Frags are good Trevor

Have you got the cup raised up as high as possible?

I don't have the cup as high as possible as I have been told that it should not be but let me try that.

Thanks for the tip
