Default 30G OverFlow.

Hey,

I thought I need to throw this question out to the reefers out their with way more expirence then I. I'm currently building a 30G with duel overflows.

Currently I have 1 Drain and 1 Return. The Drain going into my sump would be drilled @ 1.5. and my return at 1inch. Now is there any downfall in having 1 Return and 1 Drain line other then the possibility of the Drain being plugged?

I was also thinking at 2 - 3/4inch drains and 1 - 1inch drain would do the trick as well.

Last question, Anyone familiar with the cup overflow? Thoughts Ideas? Cons? Would you suggest doing a full sized overflow or would a cup overflow suffice. I was thinking if I built the cup overflow I would have some extra room being a small tank in all.

Thanks in advance for any replies I get.

A 1" drain with 3/4" returns should be fine. Personally I would only have a single overflow box especially in a 30G tank. Try and keep as much room for everything else.

It would be a single box with 2 - 3/4 drains to my sump - and a 1inch return back into the tank on the other side.
