Default Tap Size

I'm in the planning stages for a zeo reactor, But I need to find a tap that will thread a hole for a 1/2 threaded PVC fitting. Anyone know the size I need?

I had a tap before however I cannot find it.

1/2" pipe has an OD of 0.840" and 14 threads per inch.

The 1/2" NPT tap should be the match

Thats exactly what mine says: 1/2 - 14 NPT HSS. I believe an 11/16 drill bit is the best match for the hole before tapping.
