Default Phoenix 14K DE 250watt

Anybody using the Phoenix 14K.Can you comment on the color and growth of your corals. Time for new bulbs and thinking of trying them out. I like to supplement with VHO actinics, but will this make the tank look too blue. I don't like the Windex look.

Was also considering the Hamilton 14K DE

I run the Phoenix 14K and I love them. Just the right amount of blue IMO. I don't run
supplement lighting. Now that I have a 48" mogul fixture I'm a little sad!! Corals did well
on the Phoenix as well,I've noticed growth in all my frags. I don't do SPS,just softies.

I'm a fan. You can check out my built thread, all I've used on that tank are 2 250W phoenix bulbs. I wouldn't say they are growing bulbs but certainly the best of both (growth+color)

On the last page there is two pics, one a full tank shot. What bulbs in those pics, Phoenix?. Looks more white than blue, but I like it.

I am running them and can say they are very good quality. Nice consistant color.

No need for actinic when running 14000k Phoenix, Hamiltons or Aquaconnects.

From all the 14K's DE I've, tried (Phoenix, Ushio and Hamilton) found the Phoenix to be the most blue/purple. Can't say I noticed that much different in growth.

Last picture in this link gives a fairly close picture to how they appear to the eye on my tank with T5 actinics.
