So I am new to this bigger tank thing have always been under 100 gallons now have a 260 and wondering what I need to keep a sicessful reef tank I am getting such different opinions about ozonizers and uv sterlizers and what is opinion on best wavemakers sorry bout spelling on my blackberry hard to use this site with it lol thanks

I would ditch the idea of ozone and sterilizers. For wavemaker it really depends what you want to achieve, and what types of corals you're looking to keep. If you want it just for some pretty movement then a Wavebox will make a "true" wave. For SPS a closed loop would provide nice switching current. Those powerbar type wavemakers are ok for smaller tanks. Vortechs create really nice waves and currents.

Try to spend most of your money on a good quality skimmer that is rated for 25-30% more than your capacity.

You need to provide more info. If you can attach some pics of some tanks you like the look of then maybe we can help to suggest more specifically. Budget always comes into play too. Do you want to spend $15,000?

i have bought a asm g3 skimmer for the 260 gallon total water volume and it is a very light bio load so it should be fine i was just seeing what would be best to run it is good to see what other people run whats works and what is a waste thanks for the quick reply
