Are you feeding it anything?

thanx for the response. i feed it once a week with a mix of brine, mysis, selcon and some reef roids for good measure always looks like it wants more though

try increasing the feeding schedule. I don't spot feed my varoius Acans, rather I cloud feed the tank 3 - 4 times a week

it's an acan with full polyp extension. it doesn't signify anything is wrong. I don't think it's a micromussa but sometimes it's hard to tell with these kinds of coral without killing a polyp and looking at the skeleton under microscope.
edit: which i don't suggest you do. love it as it is |

Just so you can compare, here's my acan lord:
Rainbow/orange crush nice and happy...full polyp extension:*** *** The picture of the Rainbow is old...since that was taken there are about 9 more little heads that have poped up in the last couple of weeks.

Acanthastrea lordhowensis, for sure. Not Micromussa.
