Refugium or not?
I'm tring to plan my sump out and wanted some opinions on weither or not to include a fuge of some sort or not. The main tank will be a 40gal cube, the stand will be 36hx24lx24w so space is limited. The area i have for the sump will be approx 14hx18lx14w. I'm going to use a 4MD-SC for a return, and another one for my skimmer. So i would think a few baffles are in order. So what do you guys think should i add a fuge or should i just use it to house my equipment? If anybody has a ny plans or drawings that i could gofrom that would be helpful too. Thanks.

awfully small. seems like you'll have a tough time fitting a fuge in there.

Yah, seems pretty tight. Hmm, I had lots of room, but I still just took my measurements down to Walmart and found two rubbermaids that fitted nicley in my required space.
I now run a 20 gal fuge, gravity fed into a 30 gal sump, on my system. |

Yeah i know it's kind of small, but that's all the room i have. I drew out a plan and i think i can have a 6"x10"x12"Fudge that gives me about a 3gal fudge. Whould this be of any beifit, or should i just make it a sump? Thanks for the replys.

Well Clinton you can always go deeper with the refugium, as long you have lots of current and O2 in the tank and some critterto stir it
