Default Temp frag tank / modified calfo manifold

Figured some may appreciate the newly tossed together frag tank...

(Ignore the cup - did you know eggcrate floats?)

Not much to look at just yet - 23g tank, quietone 1200 pump, 3 hydor flo's built into a calfo manifold.

Flow is very random as one might expect, the hydor's do a darn fine job. FWIW, before I believed that hydors clipped right into a 1/2" FPT, but that's not quite true, they clip right into 1/2" bulkheads. So for this project I used marine goop to glue the included adapters to the 1/2" slip x fpt T's.

And just for some useful information...
1/2" 90 - adds 3/4"
1/2" T - adds 1 1/4"
In other words, if you have a T, 2 90s with 2 5" pieces of PVC - total length will be 12 3/4"

VERY cool, Andy! I'm a big fan of Hydor Flo's as well (I use 2 of them on my return).

Where did you guys get the Hydor Flo's?
And say if you were going straight out from the point of one of them.
What degree angle whould the flow spread be on them?

I got (2) from B. A. Online (MUCH cheaper than getting it in-store, plus free shipping over $35).

Maybe this will help:

Pisces here in calgary sells the bare version for 19.99, the "large" version for 24.99 - thats the one with the sponge - there are a mix in the picture, can you tell the difference? They sell on ebay for under 10usd, just watch the shipping/handling.

Probably 20-30 degrees, the flow's spread across a half circle, the edges shoot more straight out, the center more of an angle. Disperses over a fairly large area.

Can you get them large enough to fit 1" PVC?
