Default MH light

Hi every one I'm thinking to build my own 175w MH light. I was think about the double end bulbs since they are smaller. What kind of blast do I need? Are they the same kind I would use for other 175w MH but just different kind of socket?

Also I heard that I need the right kind of MH blast for the right kind of MH buld (I don't mean watt) or els the bulb might light up but the spectrom will be wrong. Is this ture?

Does anyone can point me to a webpage?

I'm thinking to convert my Coralife 24" Aqualight Power Compact Strip Light- 1X65Watt in to a 175w MH

http://www.bigalsonline.ca/catalog/p...d1=1843;pcid2=

I just like to hood. It looks cool and clean.

Cheers

There is no such thing as a double ended 175W Halide. You'd either have to go down to 150W or up to 250W if you want double ended bulbs.

how deep is the tank? also remember a PC reflector is usaly a pour choice for a MH bulb as the dispersion is different. you will most likely end up with hotspots but it will work.

The tank is about 50cm deep. I just don't want to do a pendent style or build a hood for it. When you say about the "hot spot" is that on the water or on the hood? I was planing to add a fan to the side of the light to lower the heat.

Do you know anything about the blast?

Cheers
