Default Success grafting sps?

Has anybody had success grafting sps together? I was experimenting with my sps and decided to cross a piece of my Cali tort and a piece of green slider. I glued the 2 pieces together about 7 months ago. It didn't do much at first but as of lately has really taken off and has started forming some unique colors. Was this a fluke or does this happen frequently?

Sps #1

Sps#2 (big green one)

Final result

Are they actually touching? It lools like two separate corals in the pic.

Lol of course they are. I cut one branch and then cut the other and glued them together. I will try and get a picture of where they meet. It's pretty neat

I've never seen it done.

We often get cultured SPS combo's that have 2 of the same species (often millepora) on the same cultured rock and you can see where the two corals meet and its a thick white line. Technically, they do not graft.

Looking forward to more pictures.

theres a guy who creeps this board regularly who has sucessfully grafted a few different sps pieces, usually results in an ugly piece, sometimes one will kill the other but take colors from the dead one, most of the time you get something uglier than you started with, sometimes you get something cool

Well I don't know if this even qualifies as grafted but it has deffinitly changed color into something different from either pieces I used. There is a line between the two pieces but where they meet is a mix of the two colors in certain spots. They were fighting eachother for the first few months but have since become friends lol. Really hard to capture with my phone. Here are some pics of it, but without removing it from the rock these are as good as it gets. Looks alot better in person.

I agree with Xenon, true grafting doesn't usually happen. If there's a white line, it's not grafted.

However, Monti caps have been successfully grafted many times, and you'll get something that looks like anything from this:
