Default Dell customer service

I won't bore you with the details but I just ordered a new computer from Dell and I had a horrible experience with their customer service after they screwed up my order.

I urge people to look at other options when purchasing a new computer.

Oh no you've been Delled
I used to service dell computers as a sub contractor in the NWT. Dell always had trouble getting us the parts we needed. Either the wrong parts were sent or they didn't have the parts in stock and the customer had to wait. Sometimes the wait was as long as a month. Boy was I glad when we gave up the contract.

Yup Dell's support has gone the way of the dodo bird. Also they tech support is not inthe USA (at least the last time we had to deal with them at the office), you always got cut off as it was a lousy VoIP connection, and the person on the other end could hardly speak english..

needless to say Good luck and be persistent with them

They've outsourced tech support to India. We had good service from Dell at my old job, certainly better than what we got from IBM before we switched, but personally I think the only solution to poor customer service is to educate yourself and do your own computer tech work. But as far as brand name systems go, you will not beat Dell prices, period.

Why do you need support?

Anyway, I'm on my second Dell upgrade, it arrives at the door I hook it up and away I go.

Oh, mine is just one lonely computer....

This is the 4th Dell I have bought and also the last.

The issue was, I ordered a system with a wireless keyboard and mouse, they shipped me a system with a wired keyboard and mouse.

I phone them, after 15 minutes of voicemail hell, I get some "customer service rep" who insists I have not ordered a wireless keyboard and mouse. She interrupts me 6 times, yells at me, and finally I give up talking to her.

Later the same day another person at Dell tells me I did order the wireless keyboard and mouse, it's just backordered. So besides this Dell chick ****ing me off, now I'm paying for 2 keyboards and 2 mouses (mice?) for one computer.

Anyone want to buy a Dell wired keyboard and mouse, will trade for frags.
