Default Logitech Harmony Remotes

All:

Bit of a add-on to my previous thread http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=81582

Anybody have any experience with the Harmony remotes, namely the 700 series. Can it replace my Xbox remote controller for watching media, my Telus Optik TV remote?

I have 2 Harmony remotes and they are great. My newest is the 800 but I can't see why the 700 shouldn't be fine. Programming them is easy but will usually take a couple of tries till you get everything just right. My advice is to program it and then use it for awhile(day or two) then go back and make changes(add features, quick buttons, move buttons). You might have to do this a couple of times till you are satisified. Live is much easier with just one remote to run everything.

My mom is the least technologically savvy person I know and she loves the Harmony remote I got her for Christmas a couple years ago.
The Logitech database has almost every piece of electronics out there, so install the software, hook up the remote and pick the model #'s of your equipment.
The activity buttons are awesome. Press Watch TV, TV comes on to HDMI 1, receiver comes on to SAT input, cable box comes on, change the channel on the cable box and not the TV and adjust audio on the receiver.
Because they're basically software driven and easy to update, they're never obsolete. Even if they don't have your hardware in the database, you can use the learning function.
They will also keep all your settings if you buy a new one, just plug the new one in and it will ask if you want to replace the old one.

Had a One now for a couple of years now and still thinking it's great. Customer service from Logitech is also outstanding. After about a year one of the buttons was feeling a little different so contacted Logitech, about a week later they delivered a brand new unit, didn't even want for the old one back.

Ordered the 700 after Boxing Day from Futureshop, don't have it yet but hoping comparable to the One.

I have on as well, love it. I'll never go back to multiple remotes. My wife likes to watch tv again.
