Default first reef build on RS

I like the way this guy has dove right in setting up his first reef tank. Nice project and well done. I wish I had started bigger.

Must be nice to be able to drop 30-40g into your first tank. I think he said commercial real estate???

I don't think it is too great an idea to make your first reef an enormous one. We all learn from our mistakes no matter how much reading you do, it is good to learn on a tank for a couple of years.

I just recently stumbled onto his thread on Reef Central (http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...&pagenumber=1).

I think its a pretty cool build, and I'm hoping he puts just as much thought and research into his livestock as he does his setup.

I can't even imagine how much that must have cost him. I look at the pile of equipment he just had sitting around in his house for a month, waiting to be unpacked and I think...uhh...uhh...mortgage payment!

Or two.

Or ten.

It's funny I started with just a 130 gal tank and had some people tell me it was too big. If I could do it all over I would have gone way bigger.
