What are you up to there, having bulb auditions? Those didn't make the cut? ;)

While we have Jon here, we should ask if he has experience with wiring 2 x 18" tubes on one of the T8 ballasts. It is electronic right Em?

I imagine it might work the same as 2 x 24", which fires up fine.

Ok Jon. Week is good.

I am too enamoured with blue I guess...if I had VHO actinics I know it could have worked. But no way like this for this particular tank.

AJ, learning is getting expensive for me sometimes....seems I experiment a bit too often. But at least I found out the Aqualine Bushke is very white (10kk) not even close to the Ushio (10kk).

Yes, the ballast is electronic T8. Wanted to try it on the FW (18" bulbs) ??

Those two will make the equivalent of one 36" if wired in sequence, I believe. One of these T8 ballasts (if for 4 tubes regularly) will push the two 18's past the maximum recommended wattage for a single 48" over-driven 4 times.

If I can find that post on RC...

Alan I tried calling the other night and left a message.

Any way on my nano tank and my refugium I have had the same ballast you are talking about hooked up to 2 18" bulbs origionally(wrong spelling I know) and I now have 3 18" bulbs wired in series.
Either way works and dont notice any diffrence in brightness of the individual bulbs.

EmilyB,
Thanks a bunch, next friday I will have the $ for the bulbs.
Let me know as we get closer to the day when/where is a good time for you.
