Exclamation PO4x4 now available at ReefSupplies.ca

Hi everyone,

We just received our shipment of PO4x4 phosphate remover.

Link -> http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-store/PO4x4-Phosphate-Remover-500ml.html

What is PO4x4? Some say it's made from the nectar of gods...........

But seriously :-)

It's a great product for those wanting to remove PO4 from their tanks. What better way to explain a product then read a couple of great reviews.

thanks
Ray

I know you said call or email but I think everyone would be interested in the answer to this question. In the Reef Builders link it says:

PO4X4 is one of the newer phosphate removers on the aquarium market which has the added bonus of being able to be regenerated and reused.

Can you explain that a bit because that's an amazing benefit.

You can reuse and regenerate gfo as well but need a masters in chemistry and a supply of nasty acids. I hope it's not like that with this product

Hi,

Yupp, as with GFO you can regenerate it, but PO4x4 makes it a little easier.

How to regenerate:

To regenerate 250 ml of PO4X4 , slowly dissolve, in small steps, 150 gram / 5,3oz of regeneration powder in 4L / 1 gallon of water. Important: The regeneration solution contains corrosive compounds and we advice to handle with care and wear protective clothing at all time, such as rubber gloves and goggles. After dissolving the powder, add your PO4X4 pellets and incubate at room temperature for 24 hours in a closed bucket. Subsequently, wash the pellets thoroughly (5-10 times) in a large volume of phosphate free water until the effluent has a pH of approximately 8. The pellets are now ready to use for seawater aquaria. For fresh water an additional wash step with 20 gram / 0,7oz Salt in 1L / 0,25 gallon of water is required to lower the pH to approximately 7. Incubate the pellets for 2 hours at room temperature and subsequently wash 5 times with large volumes of phosphate free water.

Here is the link...

We are waiting for stock on the solution.

thanks

Sounds great. I'm curious on what the cost of the solution is versus replacing the P04X4 and if it has the same effectiveness that the initial batch has?

To be honest I'm not 100% sure if it will be as effective when regenerated. One would assume it would evetually lose some of its effectiveness. I could be wrong.

We will retail a 500g bottle for right around $35 and you need 150g to regen 250ml of PO4x4.

Thanks

What's the difference between PO4 product compared to HC GFO? Rowaphos is expensive but it's not even HC, and it's also damped which makes slightly heavier compared to dried HC GFO.

The main differnce is it is easy to regenerate with the regen buffer and it does not break down...crumple up like GFO. GFO is still a great product, this is just a little better IMO.

With that being said, we also add the 250ml version http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-st...ver-250ml.html and the price of the 500ml has dropped to $39.99

Dealers: Please contact us for wholesale pricing.

thanks
Ray
