Default J&L Aquatics Visit

During my visit two days ago, I noticed some of their fish tanks are under either Hyposalinity treatment or praziquantel treatment. Wonder if there are some sorts of disease outbreak they are going through. I was planning to get some fish but decided not to do so. JL is my favorite shop still.

Any ideas?

All fish stores deal with diseases some treat the problems others just let the livestock perish. Ive bought 3 fish from JL that were in hypo and they are fine. I still QT all live stock for 6 weeks before putting into my display.

They do that every time they get a fish shipment in.

That makes sense. Never seen KingEd doing that...

Always like spending time at JL, as it reminds me of favorite candy shop in childhood

I love J and L. They have stopped me from buying things that they sell because they felt I didnt need it and didnt try to upsell me on something else instead. They gained my trust. In this case there is nothing going on, just routine for them. But next time ask them and they will gladly help you

cheers

I actually appriciate their honesty on treating fishes. They are my #1 LFS.

I would say about half the time they have four tanks under treatment and sometimes the big ones at the back too.

I asked one day. They told me it was to kill any unwanted pests to protect all the outher fish.
It's just a different way instead of dosing .

If I see a fish I want at J&L and it's already in hypo I always grab it. All the fish I've gotten from J&L that's in hypo have turned out to be the healthiest and never an issue with illness so far (fingers crossed as I don't plan to stock anymore livestock for the near future).
