Default Tufa rock in a reef?

Does anyone have tufa rock in their reef? I've been trying to do some research into suitable base rock and I've heard some good things about it. I want to put some under my LR to get some height to my aquascaping (my tank is 30 inches deep!).

Any comments/info?

Thanks
Mike

I used half LR and half tufa in my tank- 6 months later my tufa has plenty of stuff in it and is getting covered in coraline algae so yeah its a great choice.

tuffa, lava rock, ect will work and stuff will grow but it is generaly not a desirable option because of very high mineral contents that will fuel algae growth.

I've got quite a bit of Tufa in my Reef. Polyps seem to attach to it quickly. It does get "green", but snails and crabs clean it off. Once it's Coraline covered, it looks like all the other rocks, and doesn't grow the green stuff anymore.
