Default deltec skimmer

hello i got a great deal on a older deltec ap 851 skimmer over xmas and was wondering what size pump sould i get to use it.can get a mag 5 or mag 7 .the skimmer will be running about 3 feet from sump and prbly be sitting in a plastic tub as i only have 30 inchs inside my stand

I believe the 751 is a recirculating skimmer. All you need is a feed pump to send water from your sump to it for processing. Pick a pump that will move 2-4 times your tank volume and you'll be in good shape.

I had a 851 its a amazing skimmer and I used to use a return pump of about 3-4 gal that way the less you push the more skimming and the less chance that the skimmer will over flow. Remember its a external skimmer and it will and could have a chance to overflow. but with deltec its very rare in the 3 years I had mine they never did.
